Nicole and Cody’s Beach Wedding Theatrical Trailer

Lights in the Attic Wedding Films- I can honestly say that I LOVE to shoot weddings on the beach! They are absolutely stunning. Mother Nature is at her best and on display! Nicole and Cody’s wedding on the beach and outside of the Pelican Pub & Brewery in Pacific City was on a gorgeous late June afternoon. The inn that they were hunkered down getting ready had amazing views of Haystack Rock and the rest of the area.
This trailer is just a tease of what will be a very beautiful wedding film. Enjoy!

Cinematic Love Story: Nicole and Cody

Lights in the Attic Wedding Films- Another one of our signature love story films. Nicole and Cody will be getting married right on the beach in Pacific City at the Pelican Pub. What makes it special to Nicole and Cody is that this is where Cody proposed to Nicole as well.
Love Stories are my favorite part of our wedding packages, from filming to editing. I get to listen to the bride and groom tell their complete story of the relationship. Every story is so different and amazing, and centered around the love between two people. Nicole and Cody are no different. Two young people who found love in Cheney and are trying to get their career jobs in the same field. These two are meant for each other. This weekend culminates in their wedding. Children, a Harley Davidson, and retirement are but a few of the pieces of the couple’s future that is discussed here in the love story.
Enjoy. Congratulations to Nicole and Cody!

Amber & Jason’s Theatrical Trailer

Lights in the Attic Wedding Films- We had the pleasure of shooting Amber and Jason Burton’s wedding at the inviting Blue Rooster Inn Bed & Breakfast outside Eugene in the beginning of June.
The barn is an incredible place to hold an event with amazing hardwood floors. There was plenty of room for the many children at the wedding to roam and play, and adults as well.
This trailer is just a taste of what will be coming very soon.
Please remember to hit pause after it starts to play to allow for buffering time.
Enjoy!

Spotlight on: Jessica Hill Photography

Lights in the Attic Wedding Films- There are times when you meet fellow professionals in the industry that you just know they are on the road to making it big time. Such is the case of Jessica Hill of Jessica Hill Photography.
As soon as we met, her engaging and outgoing personality immediately warmed me and I knew that the shoot was going to be fantastic.
I’m not going to critique her style, or comment on what demographics and style of brides she likes. You should go to her website and check it out for yourself. Or, better yet, give her a ring-she’s a hoot!
We shot around Portland’s Union station, where she has her studio and office. After that we went down by the Willamette River, over to Powell’s Books, and then to the Magnolia’s at Hoyt Arboretum.
Her hair and makeup were created by the equally fantastic Jennifer Walker of Face, Body, Beauty.
This promo was shot with our Canon 5D Mark II and we used our Canon EF 50mm 1:1.2 L, EF 70-200mm 1:2.8 L, Jessica’s 24-70mm, and our Lens Baby composer.

The Thread’s Wedding Workshop-Day 4-Choosing Your DJ

Lights in the Attic Wedding Films-Well, sadly this is the last vlog from our wedding workshop series we put on earlier this year. We had eleven vendors hold free workshops over 4 days at Angie Oven’s Bridal Gallery. Last, but certainly not least is Kevin Venables of NW Mobile DJ.
Kevin is one of the best in the business in this area. Not only does he bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, he also has an infectious personality. His great sense of humour can offset even the most cantankerous of LeTipsters. His attitude and demeanor has set many a bride and mother of the bride at ease, and I’ve seen all of his weddings run smooth as silk.
So with that, I’ll introduce Kevin. In this video, he addresses many topics to think about when researching your DJ. Also, he raises important reasons why to have a dj, and not just have your buddy run an ipod to save a couple of bucks.
Enjoy!

The Thread Wedding Workshop-Day 4-Choosing A Cake Designer

Lights in the Attic Wedding Films- One of the most enjoyable parts of filming weddings is shooting the wedding cake. I have been so impressed with the style and artistry some cake designers bring to the table. I don’t think I’m the only one either, with multiple tv shows devoted to cakes, and yes, I do watch it from time to time.
Here in Salem, we have an incredible cake designer. Marion Barnes of Myriad Cake Design is the best cake designer in Salem, bar none. She is an artisan with the buttercream and her flavors are extraordinary.
I’ve had the pleasure of sharing an event space with her and Jennifer Walker of Face, Body, Beauty and I enjoyed it so very much. Two of the most talented women in their fields, and me, under one roof. It was awesome.
Here is Marion speaking about what to look for, the best questions to ask, and giving out some tips and tricks to brides when it’s time to choose a cake designer.
You won’t find any cake mixes at Myriad! Everything is created by scratch. It surprised me how many cake designers use mixes. But alas, Marion will tell you everything you need to know.
Since this is a 1080 HD video, please allow a bit of buffering before viewing.
Enjoy!

Hawley was the first of the last 3 vendors to speak at our wedding workshop series, with the Marion from Myriad Cake Design and Kevin Venables from NW Mobile DJ Service being uploaded later this week.

Wedding Workshop Day 3- Officiant/Life Celebrant

Lights in the Attic Wedding Films- Johanna Respini of “An Event To Remember” was filmed during day 3 of “The Thread’s Wedding Workshop”. Johanna is a wealth of information, experience, and knowledge when it comes to weddings. I know that I have learned so much from her and now consider her a friend. In her video here, she makes you think of some of the pitfalls that can accompany brides when they have a DIY philosophy and have a friend do the ceremony. Please watch and learn from Johanna. She is also the creator of Willamette Valley Wedding Professionals, a networking group of wedding professionals here in the Willamette Valley.

The Thread Wedding Workshop-Day 3- Flowers!

Lights in the Attic Wedding Films- The super nice Denice Seeger from Distinctive Designs from Denice is seen here giving advice on what to ask floral designers and what to look for in picking which floral designer is the best fit for you. Denise has a lot of great information not only for brides, but for the mothers of brides and event coordinators as well. Enjoy!
